1. Use of recommendation technologies

Usuba uses recommendation technologies: information technologies that provide information based on collecting, organizing, and analyzing data related to user preferences.

2. Kinds of preference data

• viewed recipes and ingredients;
• favorite recipes;
• selected catalog filters;
• excluded foods in the local blacklist on the device;
• the chosen number of servings;
• aggregated visit statistics (with analytics consent).

3. Sources

• actions on the site (views, favorites, filters);
• localStorage, IndexedDB, and cookies on the user’s device;
• account data after sign-in (sync of collections and cleaned plans);
• de-identified Yandex Metrica analytics when consent is given (outside intake and plan screens).

4. How recommendations are formed

Recommendations are formed by ranking and selection algorithms using the data above: relevant recipes are preferred, local food exclusions on the device are taken into account, and blocks on the home page and in the catalog are personalized.
