Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

Cut the dried kulich into slices about 0.5 cm thick, lengthwise or crosswise.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Break the egg into a plate.

  3. 3

    Step 3

Stir the egg with a fork until the white and yolk are combined.

  4. 4

    Step 4

Pour in the milk and stir.

  5. 5

    Step 5

Add sugar. If the kulich was sweet, add just a little for a crispy crust. If it was plain — add more sugar.

  6. 6

    Step 6

Heat the pan and put a small piece of butter on it.

  7. 7

    Step 7

Dip a piece of kulich into the egg mixture. If the kulich is very dry, keep it in longer so it soaks well, but doesn't fall apart.

  8. 8

    Step 8

Flip the piece over and soak the other side.

  9. 9

    Step 9

Place the crouton on a heated pan with oil. Fry on each side until golden brown.

  10. 10

    Step 10

Serve croutons with tea or coffee.
