Beef Skewers on Grill Pan

A quick way to cook shashlik without skewers — on a grill pan over coals. The meat is marinated in an Asian sauce with ginger, garlic, and lime, then fried with onions and vegetables until done. Beef can easily be replaced with lamb or pork.

  3. 3

    Step 3

Cut the lime into 8 pieces.

  6. 6

    Step 6

Place the meat, onion, ginger, garlic, chili pepper, lime, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, vegetable oil, salt and pepper in a container. Mix well with your hands and cover with a lid. Let the meat marinate for a couple of hours if time allows.

  7. 7

    Step 7

Spread the coals in the grill.

  8. 8

    Step 8

Pour the contents of the container onto a grill pan. Place the pan on the grill grate over hot coals. Cook for about 20 minutes, stirring the meat and vegetables occasionally, until the beef is done. The meat should be evenly browned on all sides.
