Instructions

  1. 1

    Step 1

Preheat a deep fryer or fill a deep pan one-third full with vegetable oil to 190 degrees. If you don't have a thermometer, check the temperature by dropping a piece of bread into the oil — at the right temperature, it will fry to a golden brown crust in 40 seconds.

  2. 2

    Step 2

Heat a tablespoon of vegetable oil in a separate pan. Fry the minced garlic and grated ginger, then add the ground pork. Season with salt and pepper, and fry until the meat is cooked through.

  3. 3

    Step 3

Add frozen vegetables, sesame oil, and soy sauce. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until the meat is cooked through, keeping the vegetables crispy. Transfer the mixture to a baking sheet and spread in a thin layer for quick cooling.

  4. 4

    Step 4

Roll out the wonton dough. Place a full spoon of filling closer to the short edge, cover with dough from above, folding the edges in from the long sides. Brush with egg yolk and roll into a roll.

  5. 5

    Step 5

Fry the rolls in preheated oil for 1–2 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Place on paper towels to remove excess oil.

  6. 6

    Step 6

Prepare the sauce: mix sesame oil, ketchup, Tabasco, soy sauce, ground chili pepper and coriander.

  7. 7

    Step 7

Pour the sauce into sauce boats and place on serving plates. Arrange the hot rolls alongside.
