Step 1
Unfold the Armenian lavash and fold it in half from one edge. This will strengthen the bread and prevent tearing when wrapping the filling.
- 2
Step 2
Grate the cheese. Lay half of the cheese in a rectangle on the prepared lavash.
- 3
Step 3
Brown the ground beef in vegetable oil until cooked through. Cool and spread half of the meat mixture over the cheese.
- 4
Step 4
Slice the tomatoes and arrange over the meat filling. Coat with cheese sauce.
- 5
Step 5
Slice the onion into thin half-rings. Spread half of the onion over the sauce.
- 6
Step 6
Finely chop the herbs and generously sprinkle over the onions.
- 7
Step 7
Salt and pepper the filling to taste. Fold the edges of the lavash inward.
- 8
Step 8
Roll the lavash into a tight roll. Prepare the second shawarma in the same way.
- 9
Step 9
Heat a skillet with butter. Place the shawarma and fry on both sides over medium heat until golden and crispy.
